I'm an Art teacher as well as a local artist and I love what I do. 

Mr. Castaneda

Band director, Manuel Castañeda III is in his 22nd year of teaching music in FWISD, 18 of which have been here at Meacham Middle School. He and his wife Lydia have been married for 24 years and have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Manuel has been around music and education his whole life as his father is a retired band director of 43 years. He enjoys the outdoors, writing and playing music as he performs regularly in various musical groups. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from UTA in 2001 and received his teaching certification soon after. His calling has always been teaching but he also was able to perform worldwide & record albums on the road for 5 years with the Texas Tejano musical icon, Little Joe y La Familia. He was fortunate enough to have earned 3 Grammy nominations with the band and countless musical experiences that have shaped his musical career. He plans to continue teaching & playing for as long as he is able to.

I am a 1987 graduate of UNT with a degree in advertising. I obtained my teacher certification from UTD in 1990, and have taught art, video production, photography; and English/ESL during my 31 years with the FWISD. I enjoy drawing, quilting, and making crafts.
