Ms. Rincon

Principal

Melissa Rincon, who values connection and collaboration when learning and leading has served FWISD students and families for 18 years. She returns to FWISD this semester after serving as the high school principal at Faith Family Academy in Dallas, Texas. She began her education career teaching English at North Side High School, and served as an assistant principal at Polytechnic High School and North Side High School before becoming principal at William James Middle School in 2020. Mrs. Rincon attended Arizona State University as an undergraduate student, and finished her bachelor's degree in journalism at The University of Texas at Arlington. She received her master's from Tarleton State University in educational leadership, and is currently a doctoral student in the educational leadership program at Texas Christian University. When not cheering for students at school events, Mrs. Rincon enjoys TCU football, cooking, gardening and spending time with friends and family, including her husband, Enrique, their children, grandchildren, a 14-year-old dog, Houdini, and two cats, Marfa and Rocket.

Mr. Vess

Assistant Principal

Mr. Vess grew up in Irving, Texas, and holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology from the University of North Texas (UNT) and a Masters Criminal Justice degree from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). Mr. Vess furthered his education by earning an administrator certificate from Lamar University.

Since 2008, Mr. Vess has been dedicated to the field of education. He began his career teaching at Nimitz High School in Irving, where he later served as the Dean of Students. Before joining W.A. Meacham Middle School, Mr. Vess was the Assistant Principal at Bonnie Brae Elementary.
